Udzungwa Mountains
Best known as the Galapagos of Africa, the Udzungwa Mountains straddle within Udzungwa Mountains National Park. This is set in the Southern side of Tanzania and park boasts of a wide array of wildlife and unique flora. Udzungwa Mountains feature variety of trails (including Lumemo trail, about 64kms; making it one of the top hiking destinations. It is mostly explored by hikers who are interested in getting to its peaks ‘Mwanihana peak.’ Hikers also get to explore the magnificent Sanje fall, 183m.
Best time to go for hiking in Tanzania
