10 Days Best of Tanzania Safari itinerary
Day 1: Pick up & transfer to the hotel
Arrive at Arusha International airport, meet your driver guide from our company and transfer to your Hotel in Arusha. The guide will brief o you the following days regarding how the itinerary will flow and what you should expect. You may visit some shopping malls incase you need something
Day 2: Transfer to Arusha National Park – Evening game drive
Have a relaxed morning breakfast, check out and set off from Arusha National park located in Northern Tanzania on Kenya’s border. In the afternoon, join a boat ride on Momella Lakes for excellent views of the park, wildlife and birds. Alternatively, go for a nature walk to explore the beauty of this park on foot.
Day 3: Game viewing & transfer to Serengeti National Park
Wakeup early for a guided morning game drive in the open plains of Arusha National park. Early morning is the best time to see early risers hunting and grazing before retiring for day rests. Expect to see animals such as Wildebeests, Elephants, Giraffes, Hippos, Buffaloes and Zebras.
Return to the lodge for late breakfast and early lunch. Thereafter, depart for Serengeti National Park located in north western Tanzania along the border of Kenya.
Day 4 & 5: Full day in Serengeti.
The two days (4 & 5) are for exploring all the beauty and hidden gem in Serengeti National Park. Enjoy guided game drives through the park for spectacular views of wild animals hunting, grazing and browsing. Serengeti has a high concentration of wild animals, which include Wildebeests, Buffalos, Lions, Leopards, Zebras, Cheetahs, Hippos, Elands, Topis, waterbucks, Warthogs and Giraffes among others.
Also, go fro bird watching to discover some bird species in Serengeti National park including Grey breasted spur fowl, Kori Bustards, Fischer’s lovebird, Rufous tailed weaver, Black headed gonolek, Ruppell’s vulture, Silver bird, Red capped robin chat, Grey backed fiscal and Southern ground hornbill.
Other activities to do in Serengeti National park include guided nature/forest walks, Camping, Hot air ballooning, hiking to the summit of Gol Mountains and visiting the Empakaai and Olmoti craters.
Day 6: Game drives & transfer to Ngorongoro Conservation Area
You will have optional morning game drive sin the savannahs of Serengeti national Park to see some animals you may have missed the previous day. Have a relaxed breakfast, check out and depart for Ngorongoro Conservation Area. You have an evening nature walk to explore the natural beauty of this crater on foot.
Day 7: Explore Ngorongoro – Visit the Olduvai Gorge.
Spend this whole day in Ngorongoro National park. Guided game drives to Ngorongoro crater offer you excellent views of lots of wild animals such as Wildebeests, Hippos, Giraffes, Hippos, Elands, Lions, leopards, Waterbucks, Warthogs, reedbucks, Jackals, Cheetahs, Serval cats and crocodiles among others.
Also, the crater is home to over 500 bird species such as black kite, Black winged lapwing, Kenya rufous sparrow, Hildebrants spur fowl, Speke’s weaver, Capped wheatear, Namaqua dove, African spoonbill, and greater flamingoes among others. In the evening, visit the Olvuvai gorge (Cradle of mankind) where the remains of the oldest mankind where discovered. You will visit the small museum where the excavated remains were kept for viewing.
Day 8: Visit the Hadzabe people & transfer to Lake Manyara National park
Have a morning breakfast ad go to visit the Bushmen of Tanzania, the Hadzabe people to experience their bush life, traditions, culture and norms. Return to the lodge, refresh and embark on a journey to Lake Manyara National Park.
Day 9: Game Viewing & Boat ride
Rise up early and go for morning game drives in the open plains of Lake Manyara National park to catch-up with early risers hunting and grazing. Game drives give you excellent views of numerous wild animals such as Waterbucks, Wildebeests, Giraffes, Zebras, Impalas, Baboons, Buffaloes, Hyenas, Elephants, Lions, Leopards and monkeys among many others.
Return to the lodge for late breakfast, refresh and relax at the lodge as you wait for hot lunch.
In the afternoon, transfer to Lake Manyara for a canoe ride for a great aquatic experience. Look out for crocodiles and hippos on the lakeshores plus many birds, which live on the shores of Lake Manyara. The canoe ride also gives you excellent views of the park and wild animals feeding from a distance.
Day 10: Visit Masai Bomas & Departure
In the morning visit the Masai Bomas, the local people who are the initial dwellers of Lake Manyara National park. Learn about their traditions, customs and beliefs. Enjoy their traditional dances and songs performed to entertain you. Return to the lodge, refresh and drive to Arusha for your connecting flight.
