10 Days Best of Kenya Safari

The 10 Days Best of Kenya Safari is an exceptional package to explore and enjoy the thrilling beauty of Magical Kenya. The safari takes to visit Kenya’s top National Parks for excellent game viewing experiences, bird watching, scenic viewing and cultural familiarities to make a complete safari package. You will visit Masai Mara National Park, Lake Nakuru, Amboseli, Abardare National Park and Sambura National Park all on the same trip. The trip starts and ends in Nairobi, Kenya.

10 Days Best of Kenya Safari Itinerary 

Day 1: Pick up & transfer to your hotel.

Upon your arrival at Kenyatta International Airport, your professional driver guide representing our company will warmly welcome you. He will then give you a brief guide on how the itinerary will flow. Thereafter, he/she will drive through Nairobi city, do some shopping and transfer you to your hotel in Nairobi for an overnight stay.

Day 2: Transfer to Samburu National park – afternoon game drive.

Wakeup, have a hot cup of coffee, check out of the hotel and depart for Samburu National Park located on the banks of Ewaso Ng’iro River in the southern corner of Samburu district. You will reach in the afternoon, check in the lodge, have lunch and refresh. In the evening, have a guided game drive through the open plains of Samburu Park to observe various wild animals hunting and grazing be before they go for night rests.

Day 3: Explore Samburu National park.

You will spend this whole day exploring all attractions and activities in Samburu National Park. Wakeup early and go for a morning game drive to catch-up with early risers.

The park is known to shelter a variety of rare dry country adapted mammals and northern specialist species which are hardly found in other parks of Kenya.  Among the animals you will see include Grevy’s Zebra, Belsa Oryx, Elephants, Lions, Leopards, Cheetahs, Reticulated Giraffes, Burchell’s Zebras, Hippos.

More so, Samburu National Park shelters over 350 bird species, which make it a haven for birders. The birds to see in Samburu include Black capped social Weaver, D’Arnaud’s barbet, Black faced sandgrouse, Vulturine, Acacia tit, Secretary bird, Somali Ostrich, Golden pipit, Red winged lark and Pygmy batis.

Other travel experiences in Samburu National Park include Cultural tours to the neighboring local communities, guided nature walks and night game drives. A bush breakfast and picnic lunch will make your safari more enjoyable.

Day 4: Transfer to Aberdare National park – Guided Nature walk.

After morning breakfast, drive out of Samburu Game Park and depart for Aberdare National Park located east of the East African Rift Valley in Nyandarua County.  The drive time is roughly 6 hours via Meru and Nanyuki towns.

Reach Aberdare in the afternoon, check in and thereafter go for an optional guided forest walk to feel and explore the natural wilderness on foot.

Day 5: Morning game viewing & transfer to Lake Nakuru.

In the early morning, go for a guided morning game drive to see early risers grazing and predators hunting.  Expect to see lots of wild animals which include Buffaloes, Lions, Elephants, Leopards, hippos, Black Rhinos, Giraffes, Colobus Monkeys, Hyenas, Baboons, Duikers, Side Stripped Jackals, East African Wild Dogs, Bushbucks, Waterbucks, Suni and Mountain Reedbucks. Return to the lodge for late breakfast, relax and wait for hot lunch. In the afternoon, leave for Lake Nakuru National Park. The drive time is roughly 4 hours and 30 minutes via Ndunyu – Njeru Road.

Day 6: Full day in Lake Nakuru.

You have this whole day to explore and enjoy Lake Nakuru. Drive to Lake Nakuru, home to the famous greater and lesser pink flamingoes. The Park also shelters over 500 bird species some of which are endemic to the albertine region.  Other birds in Lake Nakuru National park include Great White Pelican, Greater blue-eared starling, Bateleur, Grab Plover, Red capped lark, Maccoa duck, Great snipe, Sooty falcon, Lesser Kestrel and European roller among others.

Also, enjoy guided game drives to see numerous wild grazers feeding and predators hunting in open savannahs. Other optional activities in Lake Nakuru National park include nature walks and camping.

Day 7: Transfer to Masai Mara National Park

Today you will have an optional morning drive to see some animals you may have missed the previous day. Have a relaxed breakfast at the lodge, check out and setoff to Masai Mara National reserve. Enjoy the 6 hours scenic drive via Kaplong and Narok city with lunch enroute.

Day 8: Full day game viewing

Embark on a full day game viewing experience to all corners of Masai Mara national park.  You will have a sunrise bush breakfast as you watch wild animals feed a few meters from you. Masai Mara National park has a high concentration of wild animals which include Wildebeests, Topis, Thomson’s gazelles, Black Rhinos, Bat eared fox, Buffalos, Elephants, Lions, Zebras, Giraffes, waterbucks, Hippos, Warthogs, Black-backed jackals, leopards and cheetahs among others.

If you love birds, Masai Mara National Park is a hotspot for bird watching in Kenya. Some of the notable birds in Masai Mara include Kori bustards, Secretary Birds, Sooty Chat, Rufous Bellied Heron, Usambiro Barbet, Silver bird, African wood owl, Abdim’s stork, Swahili Sparrow, Red throated tit, Woolly necked stork, Ostriches and Grey Penduline tit among others.

A picnic lunch under the tree shade as you watch predators hunt and grazers feed is a memorable experience.

Day 9: Masai Cultural tour

Enjoy your morning sleep, wakeup to have a sunrise breakfast and thereafter go to visit Masai local communities near the park. Meet and interact with local people, learn and experience their traditions, norms, beliefs and customs. These were the indigenous dwellers of Masai Mara National Park who co-existed with wild animals.

Enjoy and be part of traditional dances, songs and poems that will be performed to entertain you. More so, visit local markets to buy fresh foods, fruits and crafts (bags, jewelries and shoes) to take home. Spend the rest of the time at the lodge preparing for the next day’s flight.

Day 10: Departure

This is the last day on our 10 Days Kenya safari.  You may have an optional morning game drives or a nature walk to explore Masai Mara National Park on foot. Have breakfast, check out and drive to Nairobi for your connecting flight. This mark the end of your 10 Days Best of Kenya Safari.
