10 Days Uganda Gorillas & Kilimanjaro Climbing Safari itinerary
Day 1: Arrival and Kampala City tour.
Depending on the agreed pickup point, our company representative will gladly meet and welcome you for this exciting safari. You will be briefed, before heading for a rewarding Kampala familiarization tour. This will be to the reptile village so as you can know the different reptiles on earth, the Uganda Museum to learn of the historical and cultural attractions in the country, and local markets to purchase souvenirs or some of the missing items. Lunch will be around town, whereas there will be a sunset drive to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.
At sunset, you will greet your intestines with a yummy breakfast meal, before checking out for a rewarding transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park; a drive that lasts for the entire day, with a lunch break, and refreshment. However, your eyes will be fed with rolling hills, plantations, Busying towns, and many more. Arrival at the park is late in the evening for refreshment, dinner, and a nap.
Day 3: Gorilla trekking.
This Day starts very early morning with energy giving breakfast meals, followed by a drive to the sector’s Headquarters for a pre-trekking briefing. During the briefing session, the park rangers give an in-depth explanation of the lifestyle of these relatives, the tracking rules, and also allocated members to the group of their choice.
Trekking Gorillas may last from 1 hour to 8 hours depending on your tracking speed, and how far they have moved. The activity picks-up momentum from the place the creatures were last seen, through the Jungle.
After a maximum of one hour of photography, and watching the unique characteristics of the Apes, you will return to the lodge for refreshment and Lunch, followed by an afternoon cultural encounter with the Batwa Pygmies- former hunters and gatherers with unspoiled cultural stories and exhibitions. Day 4: Fly to Kilimanjaro Mountain – Northern Tanzania.
After enjoying a yummy breakfast meal at the lodge, you will join your driver Guide for a smooth drive to Entebbe international airport, with an enroute stopover at the Equator for Lunch, photography, and witnessing the magical demonstrations at the marginal Line.
At Entebbe international airport, you will get a flight that will take you to Kilimanjaro international airport in northern Tanzania, where you will get our driver-guide for a transfer to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 5: To Machame camp.
After early morning breakfast, our expert driver-guide will take you to Machame Gate, where other hikers, porters, and park rangers will be gathered for the Hike. Here, you will register and also listen to the advice from the experienced park rangers on how to tackle this giant to the peak because of every-step matters.
In this 4-5 hour hike to Machame campsite, expect to watch the captivating landscape, some residents, and many more. You will have a Lunch stopover, followed by dinner and a nap at the camp.
Day 6: Machame camp to Shira camp.
After a hefty breakfast meal, you will proceed to ascend the world’s tallest standalone mountain. The walk is through a savannah forest, hosting several bird species, and with a unique climatic condition. There will be a picnic lunch en-route, before an evening arrival at the Shira camp for dinner and a nap.
Day 7: Shira Camp to Barraco camp.
At sunrise, start the day with a delicious breakfast meal, before commencing with the Journey to Barraco camp. There is a change of temperature at this level thus need to prepare for it. The ground is sandy, with semi glacier areas. Lunch will be served enroute, while dinner and overnight at the camp. Your cameras and eyes will be your best friend as every set presents a unique attraction.
Day 8: Barraco camp to Barafu camp.
The journey continues today as soon as breakfast is done. Earlier than the previous days, through a rugged path, that offers an interesting view of captivating landscapes, caves, and many more. Enroute to Barafu camp, you will enjoy a lip-smacking lunch meal. Though exhausted, and experiencing weather change, dive to your campsite for dinner and a nap.
Day 9: Barafu camp to Uhuru summit.
Complete change of altitude it will be today, but very exciting that you will hit the snowcapped Uhuru peak; a dream come true. The 5 to 7-hour journey commences at about 1:00am, while with warm attires. Never stop admiring and listening to explanations from the guides because every bend offers something captivating. Additionally, there will be rising snow to watch at the peak, as well as the fascinating sunrise.
The camera is fully put on the task at all times. Thereafter, you will descend to Mweka camp, crossing the Gilman’s point and Barafu camp where Lunch will be served. Dinner and overnight come last.
Day 10: Departure.
Early in the morning, receive the sunrise with a yummy breakfast meal at the lodge, after which you continue descending to Mweka Gate. Across the way, some caution should be taken, as well as the eyes should keep on admiring the landscapes, vegetation, and so on. On arrival, join your drive Guide who will take you for lunch, before making a drive to the airport for your departure flight.
