The 21 Days Grand Uganda Safari Holiday takes you to the best destinations in the pearl of Africa as you watch some of the most eye-catching features in the protected areas. Watching the mountain gorillas, Murchison Falls national park, Sipi Falls and the Big 5 mammals is the highlight of this Uganda safari.

Detailed Itinerary.

Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Hotel.

You will be picked by our driver on arrival at the airport who will be your safari guide at the same time. You will then be transferred to the hotel where you will spend your first night. You will then be briefed about your 21 Days Grand Uganda Safari Holiday

Day 2: Drive to Jinja.

After the morning breakfast you will set off and head to the Eastern side of Uganda for a very adventurous day. Jinja is well known for the source of the Nile and sits just at the shores of Lake Victoria. You will engage in a variety of breathtaking activities like kayaking, white water rafting, Zip-lining and quad biking. The day will end with a relaxation at your Hotel to watch the beautiful sunset at the source of the longest river in the world.

Day 3: Transfer to Sipi falls.

After the morning breakfast at the lodge, you will set off for a 3-hour drive to the North East side of Uganda towards Sipi falls in the foothills of Mt. Elgon. There are three water falls separated by steep hills as you will see them covered by beautiful coffee plantations which is the major cash crop in this area. There will be a short lunch break in Mbale town and then proceed to the Sipi falls. An adventurous coffee tour and a community visit are some of the activities for this day before retiring at the Hotel/lodge for the night.

Day 4: Hike to Sipi falls and Transfer to Moroto.

Hiking through the beautiful green hills towards Sipi falls is a great highlight for this day, River sipi flows to the bottom of Mount Elgon forming separate beautiful water falls that have become a great attraction to the travelers world over.

There are 3 waterfalls and we will go for a closer one to catch up with the day’s program and to spare some energy for the remaining days of the trip. You will enjoy the trails leading you through caves, plantations and also different villages as you meet the locals. You will then return in time and have your lunch and proceed to Moroto.

Day 5: Community Visit.

The day begins with a delicious breakfast at the lodge and head out for an exciting to the Karamojong area in Moroto. Karamojong is one of the most well-known tribes in Uganda for its unwavering cultural values that relates to the Masai in Kenya. You will start your day with a community visit as you watch the beautiful Moroto Mountain which is the highest in Moroto. An interaction with the local people is an opportunity for you to learn about some of their culture and how they go about their daily live.

You will later visit the Kraal to learn about how they protect their families and cows. A Kraal is a village of small huts in a wooden and thorny fence. The fences may be permanent or temporally but the main purpose is to protect their cattle from intruders.

Day 6: Transfer to Kidepo Valley N/park.

After your breakfast on this day, you will embark on another 5 hours’ journey in the Karamoja region towards Kidepo Valley National Park. this is probably one of the furthest protected areas located at Uganda’s border with South Sudan. You will enjoy the beautiful views of this dry side of Uganda yet people survive here and are healthy. Kidepo valley offers the best game viewing opportunity as it harbors the rarest species of wildlife in Uganda like Elands, Zebras, Ostriches and the Cheetah.

You will have an evening game drive after lunch and have an opportunity to watch the elephants, buffaloes and giraffes in the wild. Return to the lodge later.

Day 7: Game drive in Kidepo Valley N/park.

The wide variety of health wildlife at Kidepo is one like no other! You will begin your morning with a tasty breakfast and drive off to the park for an exciting morning game drive to catchup with the early risers. The hunting cuts ae seen devouring the weak animals as others feed.

The guides will take you to the best game viewing spots for the big 5. You will break off for a lunch break and have an afternoon game drive to catchup with some of the animals you missed in the morning. Return to the lodge for relaxation.

Day 8: Kidepo to Murchison Falls N/park.

After the morning breakfast you will drive off to the north west of Uganda towards Murchison falls National Park arriving early enough to avoid driving at night. Murchison falls is one of Uganda’s largest and oldest parks with the widest variety of wildlife like no other! Giraffes, lions, elephants, hippos, waterbucks, baboons, warthogs and crocodiles among others.

Day 9: Game drive and Boat Cruise

After an early breakfast at the lodge, you will be taken out for an exclusive game viewing experience in the vast savanna of the park to watch your favorite animals like the lions, leopards, antelopes and many bird species among others. Return to the lodge for lunch and rest preparing for the afternoon boat cruise to the bottom of the falls to watch the mighty waters of the Nile as it plunges its way through the rocks before exploding into the overflow to make a sailable water body.

Enjoy watching the crocodiles, hippos as well as the thirsty animals coming to quench their thirst on the river banks.

Day 10: Murchison to Kibale forest N/park.

Have breakfast and start on the journey to the primate capital of East Africa Kibale National Park in the western parts of Uganda. The park is home to a large population of Chimpanzees that have been habituated for tracking by visitors. You will arrive in the evening and check-in at the lodge.

Day 11: Chimpanzee tracking and Bigodi swamp.

The day begins with a tasty breakfast at the guesthouse and head straight to the park headquarters to have briefing on how tracking the chimps will be conducted. You will then hit the jungle with guides to search for the habituated chimpanzees in their natural habitat. It will take you about an hour to meet the chimps as thy play and jumping from tree to tree feeding as a group.

You will have a full hour of an encounter with them after which you will return to the lodge for lunch. Embark on the Bigodi swamp tour in the afternoon and catchup with the various primates, birds and many plant species in this park.

Day 12: Visit the tea Plantation

You will have a special visit to the tea plantations in this area and learn about how this cash crop has transformed this region. The beautiful green plantation of tea gives the best beauty for pictures especially to you the guests. Then return to the hotel for lunch and chat the evening away relaxing to spare some energy for the remaining days of the trip.

Day 13: transfer to Queen Elizabeth NP

After breakfast at the Hotel, you will set off for another exciting journey to the famous Queen Elizabeth National Park another key tour destination in Uganda. Enjoy the beautiful views of this countryside as you head towards the Kasese District where the Park is located. You will arrive in the afternoon, have lunch and take on an evening game drive to catchup with a few animals before the close of the day.

Day 14: Game drive and boat cruise

You will take on a morning game drive to the open savanna to catchup with the big five including the Elephants, buffaloes, lions, giraffes, waterbucks, Impalas, warthogs, wild dogs, leopards, hyenas etc. Our professional guide will lead you to the best spots for game viewing to exceed your expectations.

Return for lunch and prepare to launch boat cruise at the famous Kazinga channel that connects Lakes George and Kyoga. You will enjoy watching schools of hippos and crocodiles as they swim in the waters and as they devour their prey.

Day 15: Lion tracking & transfer to Bwindi NP.

After the morning breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and set off for lion tracking to watch them in their pride as they rest on the fig trees to watch their prey and also to rest. The lions are sometimes seen hunting which makes very scenic moments of the trip that you can’t miss. You will have your lunch from this part of Queen Elizabeth.

You will then proceed to Bwindi Forest National Park where the mountain Gorillas live in the hills of Kigezi. The great views of the rolling hills of this part of Uganda will leave you startled at the scenic views. Your next destination offers the highlight of your 21 Days Grand Uganda Safari Holiday

Day 16: Gorilla tracking

Tracking the Gorillas is everyone’s dream of a lifetime, you will transfer to the park headquarters for a briefing before hitting the jungle to meet the mountain Gorillas in their natural habitat. The exercise takes you from 2 hours or more as you search for the habituated Gorilla families and once they are found you will be allowed to have a full hour with them as you take memorable pictures. You will later return to the lodge and have your lunch and rest for the rest of the day at the lodge.

Day 17: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi.

After the morning breakfast, you will set off to Lake Bunyonyi which is just an hour’s drive to reach. It is situated in the middle of Kigezi hills with Unique 29 Islands that have different activities taking place there including having homesteads on these islands. You will arrive in the midmorning hours and have some rest and lunch and then get to explore the fresh crocodile-free waters swimming this afternoon and chilling on the shores.

Day 18: Bicycle riding and Canoe experience.

You will start with breakfast and get on an amazing bicycle riding experience through the known rails up the hills and return later for lunch. Launch a boat ride on the lake to explore the different Islands to watch birds and to interact with the locals sharing with them in how they manage to live on the water. Return later and have Dinner and night stay.

Day 19: L. Bunyonyi to Lake Mburo National Park.

After breakfast at Lake Bunyonyi Rock Resort on this day, you will leave Bunyonyi and head to Mbarara where Lake Mburo National park is located. You will arrive in the midmorning hours and have your lunch with in the park. Embark on an evening game drive here to explore the beauty of one of Uganda’s smallest parks.

Large herds of Uganda kobs, zebras, Giraffes and Buffaloes are seen feeding in the park. Other wildlife in this park include, leopards, hyenas, forest hogs, mongoose, birds, and hippos.

Day 20: Departure  

You will set off after breakfast and head back to Kampala to end your trip. You will have a stopover at the Equator for memorable pictures and proceed to Kampala marking the end of your 21 Days Grand Uganda Safari Holiday.
