This is an interesting 10 Days Chimpanzee and Gorilla Trekking Safari in Uganda’s best tourist destinations. It covers the adventurer’s areas of the Mountain Gorillas, the Landscape scenery, wildlife in Queen Elizabeth and Murchison Falls National park to search some of the big five like Lions, Leopard, Buffaloes,, Elephants, and the chimpanzees in Kibale forest National Park. The safari concludes with shopping in Kampala before catch a scheduled flight back home.
Day 1: Arrival to Entebbe International Airport Uganda – Transfer to Kampala:
Depending on when your flight will leave you home today, board your flight to Uganda to arrive Entebbe: You will be met by Dav Tours & Travel representative on arrival will then transfer you to your Hotel of Choice either in Entebbe town or Kampala capital city.
Day 2: Drive out of Kampala City or Entebbe town – Bwindi gorilla Impenetrable National park (the accommodation here is optional depending on the availability of the permits) After your breakfast, begin panoramic Safari south-words to Bwindi impenetrable national Park, first stopover will be for pictures at the Equator, then Lunch break shall be served in Mbarara, at Agip Motel. Proceed to Bwindi and shall arrive late in the evening to your hotel of choice, check in then dinner and later overnight.
Day 3: Bwindi Mountain gorilla trekking activity
Incase you need a wake up call for this day then you need to inform the hotel attendants, at 07:15 you shall be served with breakfast and your guide will lead you where you shall be registered to verify the information on your passports before the briefing time, then proceed to the ground to get the briefed at 8.00am before entry to the forest for gorilla trekking adventure depending on which you group your permit is. In the afternoon if you are are still strong enough and depending on the weather, there will be guided village walk to learn how the communities around the Bwindi National Park are benefiting from the tourism of the area; this is an ideal short walk that will bring you back to your hotel of choice for dinner and overnight later.
Day 4: Bwindi National park – Queen Elizabeth National
After breakfast at 7:00am leave for Queen Elizabeth National Park to the Northern Sector of Mweya peninsular, while a chance to go for a short game drive at the Ishasha sector of the climbing lions (optional) if you are lucky you might see some of these animals resting under the trees branches. If you have your packed lunch enjoy it while having good fresh air come from open savannah grassland, before you proceed to arrive the Mweya peninsular to check – in, before an evening game drive that will crown this day with dinner and over night.
Day 5: Activities in Queen Elizabeth National
Morning activity: Early at 6:00am, your guide will take you for a game drive on the plains of Queen Elizabeth NP, with thousands of Ugandan Kobs, lions, elephants Hippos, Buffaloes, Leopard, Spotted Hyena and many more. Also on the programme is a two hours launch trip at 2:00PM after you lunch on the Kazinga channel where you will see all the animals from the waterside. In the evening we will go on a late evening game drive to the mating grounds of the Uganda Kobs. The day ends back at Mweya peninsula, enjoying a great view of the park.
Day 6: Queen Elizabeth National – Kibale Forest National Park
Drive out of Queen Elizabeth National park to near Kibale forest National Park the morning via Kasese town while enjoying the views of Mountain Rwenzori (Mountain Rwenzori is the highest mountain in Uganda with an altitude of 5109 m also known as Mountains of the Moon), arrive for lunch at the Garden Restaurant, this afternoon you will be guided to the caves and craters of “amabere Nyinamwiru” for Nature walk then if you hotel is Fort Portal you will stay here or in the National park of Kibale forest for dinner and overnight which shall be served at your hotel of choice.
Day 7: Chimpanzee tracking in Kibale National Park
Early morning at 07:15am (if you are to stay in Fort portal town then breakfast is at 06:00am) you will have breakfast then leave to Kibale forest National Park headquarters for briefing before you enter in this beautiful forest for chimpanzee tracking including other primates like the L’hoestes, Colobus, Blues, Red-tailed monkey and grey cheeked Mangabey swinging through the dense forest and several bird species, butterflies and many small insects, can be seen before you return back for lunch. An opportunity to reach Biggodi for a swamp walk the area is run by the community as away to preserve and save animals in the Kibale forest, you shall then return for dinner and overnight.
Day 8: Kibale Forest National Park – Murchison Falls National Park
Today is an exciting drive along the Albertine Rift Valley and from either Fort Portal or Kibale forest on the shadow of the Mountains of the Moon. After breakfast drive from Kibale forest or Fort portal heading North-west via the Albertine Escarpment of the great Western Rift Valley. Drive through Hoima and reach the colorful Savanah soroundings of Murchison falls National park, before arriving the park you will have lunch in Hoima Town. Later proceed to your hotel to checking then, dinner and overnight.
Day 9: Activities in Murchison Falls National Park
Wake up to the amazing sounds of birds in the air and animals open air, which will bring you to the realization that you are at the mighty Murchison Falls National Park. Enjoy your breakfast include while experiencing this early morning sun rise before you will drive for a game drive at 6:30AM. Some of the animals you will see today include: Giraffe, elephant, lion, buffalo, crocodile and countless antelope and birds that can be seen at close range. A binocular is an added advantage. Lunch will be served at you lodge, your guide will transfer you at 1:45pm for a boat cruise to the bottom of the falls, the cruise will enable you see many animals and birds on close range, a return will be relaxing, swimming at the lodges pool, dinner and overnight.
Day 10: Murchison Falls National Park – via Kampala Capital City
This day will mark the end of your safari with a drive out of Murchison falls national park after your breakfast at 07:00am, return back to Kampala or Entebbe depending on where your accommodation is located, otherwise transfer to the airport to catch your flight back home.
