Day 1: Arrival and Departure to Nyungwe Forest
Upon your arrival at Kigali international airport, our company representative will happily welcome you for the 4-day unforgettable adventure experience. The guide will brief you about the trip before starting the journey to Nyungwe forest national park, home to chimpanzees and numerous primate and bird species. The tour will be first started in the city with a visit to the Kigali genocide memorial and the museum, then have lunch before proceeding the journey to the park where you will have the activities, head to your preferred lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking in Nyungwe Forest
After an early morning cup of coffee, you will head to the park’s headquarters for a briefing as the park rangers outline some of the rules you have to follow during the trekking session. When the briefing is done, the ranger will accompany you to the jungle in quest of these closest relatives to humans, a journey that is to a small extent easier and reliable as compared to chimpanzee trekking exercise.
You will track for large communities of Chimpanzee who will welcome you with the beautiful sound, their nose, curiosity and social way of life is what distinguishes and spells out the uniqueness of these creatures, upon getting them to take some notes and respect them since you are at their home. Thereafter, have lunch and hike to track Black and white Colobus Monkeys, birding and return late in the evening for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Day Hike / Cultural walk
Following the breakfast, you have just had early in the morning, you will visit the Gusakula Tea Estates as you have some of the unforgettable photo moments. Proceed to Lake Kivu, stopping en route to experience traditional local dances and culture, accompanied by lunch. This will be a whole day experience only checking to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4: Departure
This is the final day of your wonderful stay home away from home. After breakfast on the shores of Lake Kivu, you will check out of the lodge and drive to Kigali international airport having a stopover at curio markets, to do shopping, have lunch before proceeding to the airport for the flight back home. This will mark the end of your 4 Days Nyungwe Forest Chimpanzee Safari.
