7 Days Kenya Wildlife Safari itinerary
Day 1: Arrive in Nairobi & transfer to Masai Mara National Reserve.
On reaching Kenyatta International airport, your driver guide representing our company will be waiting for you. He will warmly welcome you and briefly take you through the flow of the itinerary. Thereafter, drive via Nairobi city towards Masai Mara National reserve located in southwestern Kenya. The 6 hours spectacular drive via the Great Rift Valley and Narok city offers you the best welcome to the magical Kenya.
Day 2: Full day game viewing.
Wakeup early and drive to the open plains of Masai Mara for morning game drives to see early risers hunting, browsing and grazing before retiring for day rests. You will have a bush breakfast as you enjoy the natural feeling of the natural wilderness. More so, a picnic lunch under the tree shade is a memorable experience you will live to remember.
You will see numerous wild animals such as Buffalos, Elephants, Lions, Hippos, Giraffes, Waterbucks, Wildebeests, black rhinos, cheetahs and Leopards among others. Besides wild animals, Masai Mara National Park is home to over 500 bird species some of which are endemic to the Albertine region.
Among the birds you will see in Masai Mara park include a saddle-billed stork, Turaco, Southern ground hornbill, Yellow billed stork, African fish eagle and Rufous bellied heron among others. Other activities in Masai Mara include horseback riding, hot air balloon ride and nature walks.
Day 3: Masai Cultural experience.
Today you wake up early, have breakfast and drive to visit the Masai cultural villages. These were the indigenous dwellers of Masai Mara National Park who co-existed with wild animals. Learn and experience the traditions, norms and beliefs of Masai people, enjoy their traditional dances and songs that make you feel like part of the community. Spend the entire afternoon chilling at the lodge.
Day 4: Transfer to Lake Nakuru National Park
In the early morning, have an optional game driving to see those animals, which you will have missed in the previous days. Depart from Masai Mara National Park headed northwards to Lake Nakuru National Park home to the greater and lesser pink flamingoes.
The drive time from Masai to Lake Nakuru National park is roughly 6 hours and 30 minutes via Kisumu-Busia/Nairobi road. In the evening, go for an evening game drive to see animals feeding before retiring for night rests.
Day 5: Game viewing & birding in Lake Nakuru
Today, you will explore all the beauties of Lake Nakuru National park. Game drives through the park offers you great views of numerous wild animals, which call this park home.
Among the animals you should expect include Wild dogs, Elands, Cape Buffaloes, waterbucks, Leopards, Lions, Rothschild’s giraffe and lions. Drive to Lake Nakuru to see the beautiful lesser and greater pink flamingoes and other bird species which live on the shores of Lake Nakuru. Overnight stay at your lodge.
Day 6: Transfer to Nairobi National Park – Afternoon game drives
Have a morning cup of coffee, check out and drive to Nairobi National Park in the city Centre. Join afternoon game drives to see various wild animals grazing and hunting in the plains of Nairobi National Parks. The animals to see in this park include Giraffes, Cheetahs, Waterbucks, Olive baboons, Blue wildebeests, Zebras, Hippos, common elands, Impalas, and common warthogs among others.
For birding enthusiasts, Nairobi National Park is home to over 520 bird species, which make it a haven for birders. The birds to see here include Kori Bustard, Corncrake, Sooty falcon, Secretary bird, Martial eagle, Grey crowned crane, Corncrake and Abyssinian thrush.
Day 7: Game viewing & Departure
This is the last day of this 7 Days Kenya Wildlife Safari. Wake up early and have an optional game viewing drive through the park to catch up with early risers. Have a relaxed breakfast at the lodge, check out and drive to the airport to catch-up with your return flight.
