6 Days Uganda Gorillas and Ngorongoro

Book a tailor made 6 days Uganda gorillas & Ngorongoro safari to see the big 5 (Lions, Leopards, Buffaloes, Elephants and Rhinos) of the wild. The trip takes you to trek the endangered mountain gorillas in Bwindi impenetrable Forest National Park and also to the big five game destination – Ngorongoro Conservation Area. This safari starts in Uganda ending in Arusha – Tanzania.

6 Days Uganda Gorillas and Ngorongoro itinerary 

Day 1: Pick up & transfer to Bwindi Forest National Park.

Depending on your flight schedule; arrive at Entebbe International Airport early morning, meet your dedicated driver / guide for meet and greet and thereafter head to a nearby restaurant / super market to grab a snack. At exactly 8:00am start a drive south-west wards for Bwindi Impenetrable National park, an important habitat for more than 50% of world’s mountain gorilla population. The drive time from Entebbe airport to Bwindi Forest is approximately 8 hours via Masaka-Mbarara-Kabale highway.

Day 2: Bwindi Gorilla trekking adventure.

This is a thrillingly interesting day! Take breakfast and thereafter drive to Ruhija sector headquarters where you will joining other visitors for document verification and pre-trekking briefing. You will be put in a group with other 8 travelers and allocated a habituated group of gorillas to meet.

The gorilla trek which begins at 8:30am lasts between 2 & 8 hours. You will be allowed to spend an hour with gorillas to take pictures, capture videos and enjoy the company of your close relatives. If time allows, visit the local communities to learn, experience, mix and mingle freely with the Batwa forest people; get to know their norms, traditions and customs.

Day 3: Transfer to Kampala & Fly to Arusha

Have a relaxed sunrise breakfast and drive to Kampala/Entebbe for your connecting flight to Arusha. The drive from Bwindi Forest to Kampala is roughly 8 hours via Kigezi rolling hills, Ankole cattle farms, banana plantations, trading centers and cities. It offers the best experience and enough time to enjoy the trip. Overnight stay in Arusha town.

Day 4: Transfer to Ngorongoro. Full day game viewing.

You will have a full day game viewing experience to see the big give game and other numerous wild animals feeding in the open plains of the conservation Area.

Among the many animals to see in Ngorongoro Conservation Area include Lions, Leopards, Elephants, Buffalos, Zebras, Giraffes, Wildebeests, Cheetahs and Topis among others. A bush breakfast and picnic lunch is a great chance to feed along wild animals. The other activities to do in Ngorongoro Conservation Area include hot air balloon, visit the Empakai crater and guided nature walks among others.

Day 5: Visit Olduvai Gorge & Masai Community Villages.

Today, you will have a guided drive to visit the Olduvai Gorge where the oldest remains of mankind were discovered in the early 20th century. In the afternoon, visit Masai cultural villages to learn and experience the traditions, norms and beliefs of Masai local people. Enjoy and be part of Masai traditional dances and songs which will be performed to entertain you.

Day 6: Departure.

Have an optional morning game drive to catch-up with some animals you will have missed the previous days. Have a sunrise breakfast at your lodge, check out and transfer to Arusha for your connecting flight.
