6 Days Rwanda Gorillas & Serengeti detailed itinerary 

Day 1: Arrival and Kigali city tour.

On this day, you will meet our company representative upon landing at Kigali international airport. He will gladly brief you about this rewarding safari offer, before heading for a tour around Kigali city. Depending on the available time, you will visit the Genocide memorial site and the local markets, plus enjoying lunch in the city, before having a sunset drive to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park and Musanze caves exploration.

Wakeup feeling life, and taste a cup of African coffee. Thereafter depart Kigali city for Volcanoes National Park, a two to three hour drive through a route marked by rolling hills and breathtaking sceneries. You will arrive at the park in the afternoon for refreshment and then head for Musanze cave exploration in the evening.

The cave is large, with several giant bats that make the experience very unique. At sunset, you will drive back to the lodge for dinner and a nap.

Day 3: Gorilla trekking in PNV.

This day starts very early in the morning with a mouthwatering cup of coffee, before you set off for the park headquarters, where you will meet other Gorilla trackers and park rangers. There your documents will be verified and the park rangers will explain the dos and don’ts of Gorilla trekking, and allocate members to the different groups before escorting them deep into the Jungle.

Gorilla trekking is done right from early morning when the Gorillas are up and actively searching for foliage, playing, and happy. It lasts for approximately 1-6 hours, plus a bonus of one extra hour after finding them. You are given chance to observe the apes, take photos and ask the ranger any questions regarding them. Thereafter you will return to the lodge for lunch, before optionally heading for an exciting cultural encounter. The Rwandese culture is one of the most exciting, with dances, songs and stories. Return at sunset for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Transfer to Serengeti national park.

After a tasty cup of coffee, you will check out of the lodge in Volcanoes Park and begin a transfer with an exciting drive to Kigali airport, before flying to Arusha. Our Tanzanian company representative will be at Arusha airport to meet, greet and take you for lunch. Depending on arrival time, you may immediately drive to your lodge in or outside Serengeti national park. There you will get a highlight of a briefing about the next day’s programs, before dinner and peaceful slumber.

Day 5: Game drive and Masai cultural experience.

Very early in the morning, you will depart the lodge to the seroneri region to catch-up with the early risers and night hunters in a 3-4 hour game drive experience. Besides the common grazers such as the warthogs, zebras, buffaloes, elephants, rhinos, wildebeests and several antelope species, you will need the luck to encounter lions, leopards, hyenas and cheetahs among other animals. Other attractions to look out for include the breathtaking landscape, lush flora and unique birds.

You will enjoy a lip-smacking bush breakfast and then return to the lodge for lunch.  Thereafter, you will head for a Maasai cultural encounter in the evening. 1-3 hours of fun, dance and rural life experience, in a community of herdsmen, with a strong ancient inheritance, dinner and overnight at the lodge at sunset.

Day 6: Departure

After an exciting peaceful nap, you will have a peaceful breakfast meal at the lodge and then check out of the lodge for the airport to get your flight to the next destination. If the time for your flight is late, then engage in an early game drive to spot those mammals, birds, and plants you might have missed in the previous days.
