6 Days Rwanda Gorillas & Ngorongoro tour itinerary
Day 1: Pickup and Kigali city.
On this day, the first meeting with us will be as soon as the plane lands at the airport, as our smartly dressed, happy driver-guide will pick you up for the safari. He will brief you, before taking you around the Kigali city for a brief tour. The must-visit destinations around town include; the Art Museum for Culture and History, the genocide memorial site, and local markets and major shopping malls to exchange the currencies or watch the locals as they trade. After the city tour, you will retire to your Hotel, enjoying dinner and a peaceful nap.
Day 2: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park.
You will welcome this day with a yummy breakfast meal, and then checking out of the lodge for a drive to a safe asylum of the endangered mountain Gorillas- Volcanoes national park. On the way to the park, you will make an enroute stopover at the twin lakes – Burera and Ruhondo. You will have lunch en route, followed by an early evening arrival at the lodge in or outside the park for evening relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 3: Gorilla trekking and Cultural experience
Today’s program starts with a hefty cup of coffee, before heading to the park headquarters for registration and briefing. The briefing is where the park rangers will explain the tracking rules and registration, plus an explanation about the Gorillas, before accompanying you to the Jungle to find them.
Depending on your speed and the distance the creatures have taken, it can take 1-6 hours to locate these apes wherever they are, plus a maximum of one hour of watching and learning more about their lives. Thereafter you will return for lunch, and then a drive to a nearby community for cultural entertainment, through dance, stories, and community tours. You will return to the lodge late in the evening for dinner and overnight slumber at the lodge.
Day 4: Transfer to Ngorongoro crater.
After breakfast, you will check out of the lodge for a drive to Kigali city, where you will enjoy a tasty early Lunch meal, before flying to Arusha. Upon landing in Arusha, meet our company representative who will brief you about the entire stay in Tanzania, before hitting the road to Ngorongoro crater. Your arrival will be in the evening, for refreshment, dinner, and overnight.
Day 5: Morning game drive and afternoon bottom of the crater exploration.
On this day, you will exit the lodge very early in the morning for a rewarding 3-5 hour rewarding game drive. The search runs through the very captivating landscape and unique plants and covers all the different territories of the prey, predators, and vultures among others. Among the many residents to look out for include; lions, leopards, Buffaloes, antelopes, zebras, and warthogs.
The other species are birds, primates and vultures. You will enjoy a lively bush breakfast, before having a delicious lunch break. In the afternoon, you will have an exciting bottom of the crater descent walk, to explore the world’s largest caldera and hideouts of the mammals, such as lions and leopards among others. The day ends with dinner and overnight.
Day 6: Departure.
After a lazy breakfast at daybreak, you will check out of the lodge for an exciting drive to the airport for a flight to the next destination. You have a choice of picking any activity if time allows, before enjoying a drive off the country. This will mark the end of your 6 Days Rwanda Gorillas & Ngorongoro.
