It’s time for a safari and all things ready, with now well-planned movements and thoughtfully selected activities. It’s a six-day vacation, across two countries; Uganda and Kenya, and enjoying very rewarding activities, Gorilla trekking in Mgahinga Gorilla national park and wildlife viewing at Masai Mara national reserve. Other additional activities include touring Nairobi city and enjoying the local vibes with the authentic cultures whose activities are aligned to the forefathers. The 6 Days Gorillas & Masai Mara tour starts in Uganda and ends in Kenya, with efforts devoted to time management, quality, and a lasting memory.
6 Days Gorillas & Masai Mara itinerary
Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park.
With a strong smile, our driver-guide will gladly welcome you for the trip. He will brief you about what to expect in the six days of your vacation, before getting behind the steering wheel for Mgahinga national park. The route to the park is decorated with undulating hills and flourishing plantations that you will watch throughout the Journey, with exception of the time you have a stopover for lunch.
The journey is long, though can be shortened using a flight or by connecting from Rwanda. You will arrive at the lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking and Batwa Encounter.
You will set out of the lodge after breakfast very early in the morning to the park headquarters for briefing and registration. The briefing by the park rangers commences at about 08:00hrs local time. They explain to the rangers about the tracking experience, before accompanying them deep into the jungle for a search that can last for approximately 1-5 hours depending on where the apes are.
You will be given an additional one hour to study the apes and take photos, after which a lunch break comes in. After lunch, you will visit the Batwa pygmies; former hunters and gatherers in Mgahinga and Bwindi forest. These locals will excite you with dances and stories before you return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Return to Entebbe and Fly to Nairobi and city tour.
This day starts very early in the morning with breakfast, before you checkout of the lodge for a long drive to Uganda’s only airport – Entebbe for your flight to Nairobi Kenya. But before reaching Entebbe airport, you will have an en-route stopover at the equator for photography and lunch.
Our company representative will meet and brief you about Kenya, before taking you to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Transfer to Masai Mara reserve.
Upon receiving the captivating sunrays early in the morning, you will take your breakfast meal, and then check out of the lodge for a Nairobi city tour; with the museum, historical sites, and local markets being on the list.
Thereafter you will proceed with the drive to Masai Mara, while enjoying the stunning views of the landscape and plantations, with an en-route stopover at the magnificent Great Rift Valley for photography. Thereafter you will have another stopover for lunch, before arriving at your lodge in or around the park in the evening for dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Full day game drive.
Today, you will depart the lodge very early in the morning to catch-up with the early risers heading for fresh pasture, and the night hunters heading to their hideouts. This park has predators, prey, and several others roaming in their territories, notably; lions, leopards, elephants, cape Buffaloes, impalas, rhinos, wildebeests, and several other Antelope species.
It’s by chance that you a lion, leopard, and a hunt in the wild. Your breakfast and lunch will be in the wild, as you don’t want to miss out on any event or action. The evening hours will be dedicated to the aquatic creatures; crocodiles, hippos, and birds at the Mara River. The sunset marks the return to the lodge for dinner and a nap.
Day 6: Departure.
Early in the morning, you will have a relaxed breakfast meal at the lodge, and then checkout for a drive to the airport for your flight to the next destination. You will enjoy the magnificent view of the Great Rift Valley as you exit and bid farewell to magical Kenya; Happy and contented!
