10 Days Uganda Primates & Serengeti Wildlife Safari itinerary
Day 1: Pick up & transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
Upon your arrival at Entebbe International airport, meet and greet your driver guide representing our company. Have a brief guide on the flow of the itinerary and setoff for Kibale Forest National park. You will have a brief stop at Nakayima tree where locals are seen performing rituals and prating to their small gods.
You will have lunch in Fort portal – the popular tourism city of Uganda, visit some tourist destinations in the city Centre and proceed with your drive to Kibale Forest National Park, the primate’s capital of Africa!
Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking & Bigodi wetland walk
Wakeup very early, have breakfast, get your packed lunch and transfer to Kanyanchu visitor information Centre for registration and briefing on the rules and regulations of chimpanzee trekking. At 8:30am, hike up hill to begin the search for these highly endangered primates.
Spending an hour with chimpanzees while taking pictures, videos and experiencing their human-like characters is all worth the money and strenuous hikes through dense forest. Besides chimpanzees, you will see other primates such as the red tailed monkeys, black and white colobus, vervet monkeys, baboons and blue monkeys among other primates and birds in Kibale Forest National park.
In the afternoon, go for guided nature walk in Bigodi wetland home, to numerous birds, reptiles and primates. A nature walk is the best way to experience the jungle!
Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi Forest National park
Have a sunrise breakfast at your lodge in Kibale Forest, check out and depart for Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National park located in south western Uganda. Enjoy this scenic drive via beautiful tea farms, banana plantations, trading centers, cattle farms and local communities on your way to Bwindi Forest.
Also, lunch stops to buy road side roasted maize, muchoma and the like make this trip more interesting.
Day 4: Mountain gorilla trekking
The great day for trekking endangered gorillas is finally here! Wakeup very early, have heavy breakfast and with you packed lunch transfer to the respective park headquarters. You will be registered and briefed on the dos and don’ts of gorilla trekking. At 8:00am, start up a hike to meet the endangered gorillas.
The hike up and down hill in search of the gorillas can last for between 2-7 hours depending on the location of gorillas and the hiking sped of the slowest person in your group. You will be allowed to spend an hour with the gorillas, take pictures and embrace the human like characters of these endangered species. After there, hike down, meet your driver guide, pic your trekking certificate and drive to your lodge.
Day 5: Cross to Kigali – Fly to Arusha.
After morning hot cup of spacious coffee, check out of your lodge in Bwindi and cross over to Kigali Rwanda via Cyanika or Katuna Border. Enjoy a drive through the clean and touristic Kigali city, the cleanest city in the whole of Africa.
You can visit some tourist destinations in Kigali such as the Kigali Convention Centre, Kigali genocide memorial Centre and some local markets. Thereafter, drive to Kigali airport for your connecting flight to Arusha, Tanzania.
Day 6: Transfer to Serengeti National Park
Enjoy your morning sleep, wakeup on a sunrise cup of coffee and check out. Depart Arusha for Serengeti National park located in northern Tanzania. The drive time from Arusha to Serengeti is roughly 5 hours. In the evening relax at your lodge in the heart of Africa’s true wilderness.
Day 7: Full day game viewing
You will spend this whole day exploring and enjoying the big five game of Serengeti National park. You will have guided game drives to various points of the park to see lots of animals feeding in the wilderness.
Serengeti National park houses a lot of animals such as Elephants, Lions, Leopards, Zebras, Cheetahs, Buffalos, Wildebeests, Topis, Waterbucks, Elands, Warthogs and Giraffes among other. You will have a bush breakfast and picnic lunch under the tree shade which makes the whole experience more fun and enjoyable.
Day 8: Guided Nature walk & Masai Cultural tour
After a hot cup of coffee, head out for a guided nature/forest walk to explore the beauty of Serengeti National Pak on foot. The walk through the forested areas of the park offer you chance to feel the calm natural environment and discover all the hidden gem. You will meet and interact with numerous wild animals and birds waking up! Return to the lodge for refreshment.
In the afternoon, visit the Masai cultural villages to learn and experience the traditions, Norms and customs of local people.
Day 9: Morning game drive & transfer back to Arusha town.
Wakeup up very early and go for morning game drive to catchup up with early risers hunting, browsing and grazing before retiring for day rests. This is a great chance to see those animals you have missed on your previous game drives. Return to the lodge for late breakfast and wait for lunch. In the afternoon, transfer to Arusha city to prepare for your next day’s flight.
Day 10: departure
Have a relaxed morning at your hotel in Arusha, Enjoy your last moments in this amazing tourist city of Arusha. You will then transfer to the airport for your return flight
