Luxury Accommodation in Murchison Falls National park

Bakers lodge

Baker’s Lodge, located on the Nile’s south bank, offers luxury yet traditional African accommodation as well as direct river access. The lodge, named after the English explorer Samuel Baker, offers high-quality food, drink, lodging, and facilities. The lodge opened in 2015 and its rooms are spacious and tastefully decorated, combining canvas and thatch. The lodge is built on a raised platform and offers stunning views of the Nile. Along the Nile’s edge, you can expect to see a diverse array of animal and bird life. Hippos and elephants are frequent VIP guests on the lodge’s grounds.

Paraa Safari Lodge

The Paraa Safari Lodge is located on the north bank of the Nile. Each of the hotel’s 54 rooms has an en suite bathroom, a large window, and a private balcony with views of the Nile. Guests receive free parking, Wi-Fi, and breakfast in the restaurant. The lodge was rebuilt in 1997 from the shell of the original 1959 lodge. Its decor is inspired by a bygone era of Nile exploration. Its tranquil outdoor pool was featured in the 1951 film ‘The African Queen,’ starring Katharine Hepburn and Humphrey Bogart. The lodge is ideal for families or first-time tourists to Africa who want to go on safari in comfort and style.

Nile Safari Lodge

Nile Safari Lodge is an eco-friendly, family-owned lodge on the Nile’s southern bank. The lodge’s furniture and fixtures are designed to blend with both inside and outside. It opened in 2017 with the dream of offering a new experience in the Pearl of Africa. The accommodation blends in with its breathtaking natural surroundings. Natural materials and expert local craftsmen were used to construct the lodge. Water is drawn from the Nile and filtered to drinkable standards using a UV filtration system. Private fridges are solar-powered, making the lodge ideal for environmentally conscious travelers. The accommodations are divided into six Deluxe Bandas, one Exclusive Banda, and one Family Villa. Its Exclusive Banda is ideal for couples, while its Family Villa is ideal for larger groups. The lodge provides privacy without isolating itself from its stunning surroundings.

Chobe Safari Lodge

Chobe Safari Lodge, located on the north bank of the Nile, is designed to provide spectacular view of the magical river. The lodge provides a variety of accommodations, including 36 enchanting guest rooms, 21 deluxe tents, 4 suites, and a Presidential Chalet. The Presidential Cottage exudes luxury. Mid-range accommodation in Murchison Falls National Park

Twiga Safari Lodge

A one-of-a-kind option for travelers looking to experience a different type of lodging, Twiga Safari Lodge is a modern take on a tented camp that combines canvas with solid construction. Twiga’s lodgings are a mix of safari camping tents and thatched African cottages. Its eight private cottages are located on the Nile’s bank in Mubaako Paraa right outside the Murchison Falls National Park. Twiga is a five-minute drive from the Murchison ferry terminal. The lodge has a fantastic view of Murchison’s treasures. Monkeys, birds, and even grazing hippos can be seen on the lodge’s grounds. The lodge has its own restaurant, bar, and gift shop, as well as free high-speed Wi-Fi and parking. The service is excellent, and the atmosphere is relaxed.

Pakuba Safari Lodge

Pakuba Safari Lodge is our top mid-range pick. The three-star suburban lodge is located on the Albert Nile’s east bank. The lodge is a new manifestation of the former state lodge owned by Idi Amin, the ruins of which may still be seen. Pakuba lies close to the Tangi Gate of the Murchison Falls National Park. After a busy day at the Park, you may cool off in the lodge’s outdoor pool or drink your favorite beverage at the well-stocked bar. You may want to sit at your window and enjoy the gorgeous views of the forest. Guests who are lucky enough may witness gorgeous animals such as a leopard or maybe a giraffe. The Albert Nile is visible from every room, and the river provides a cool evening wind. The lodge provides excellent value for money, with 32 Double/Twin rooms and 4 Family rooms that are all spacious and well-appointed. However, the lodge lacks the flair and individual style that can distinguish a property. Luxury lodges are ideal for those looking for a more intimate experience.

Budongo Eco Lodge

Budongo Eco Lodge offers accommodation along the main route that connects Masindi and Paraa. The Budongo Ecolodge is our favorite of these resorts. While these facilities do not offer Nile frontage, they do have excellent access to the Budongo forests, which are home to a diverse range of wildlife and over 600 chimps. The most popular site to stay is the Budongo Ecolodge, which is located 8 kilometers north of the Kichambanyobo Gate. Originally the Jane Goodall Institute’s research station, it has been restored to give a pleasant and comfortable base for forest exploration. Chimpanzee trekking and forest walks are among the activities available at the lodge. The resort has a cozy atmosphere. For larger groups, Budongo has five spacious cabins and four huge dormitory rooms. Its on-site visitor center is quite educational about the surrounding area and displays old fossils. The artisan shop inside the resort sells handcrafted souvenirs to commemorate your visit.

Murchison River Lodge

Murchison River Lodge, set on 30 acres on the Nile’s southern bank, is a family-run lodge with panoramic views of Murchison Falls National Park. Chris and Georgie, a couple who sought to create an inclusive environment for travelers of all budgets, founded the lodge. The staff provides outstanding service and is eager to share their expertise of the surrounding area. The lodge is environmentally friendly and runs on solar electricity, which includes solar water pumps for the pool and solar lights. The on-site restaurant primarily uses locally sourced ingredients, such as meat purchased from a Jinja butchery. It has a variety of accommodation options, including thatched cottages, thatched safari tents, river tents, and a campsite.

Boomu Women’s group

Boomu, which means “togetherness,” is a fantastic affordable accommodation option with a social purpose on the outskirts of Murchison National Park, near the southern gates. Boomu is great for travellers because it has multiple dormitory-style rooms, a restaurant on-site, and breakfast is included.

Camping at Shoebill

This campsite is named after the uncommon shoebill stork that visits the Albert Delta in Murchison National Park. Set up your tent on the Nile’s edge and sip a sundowner while listening to the calls of hippos and other wildlife that frequent the riverbank below. Shoebill is great for do-it-yourself camping, so bring your tents and cooking gear.
