The safari takes to some of Tanzania’s top travel destinations including Serengeti National park, Lake Manyara, Tarangire National park and Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The safari offers you excellent game viewing experiences and bird watching plus cultural visits in both national parks to make a complete package. We shall start and end in Arusha, Tanzania.
7 Days Tanzania Wildlife Safari itinerary
Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Lake Manyara.
The driver guide from our company will pick you up from your hotel in Arusha or from the airport and transfer to Lake Manyara National Park located in the northern circuit of Tanzania, south-west of Arusha. You will reach in the afternoon; check in, refresh and head out for an evening game drive to catch-up with animals feeding before they retire for night rests.
Day 2: Game viewing, boat cruise – transfer to Serengeti National Park.
You shall have this whole day for enjoying all attractions and activities in Lake Manyara National Park. Get up early and go for morning game drives to catch-up with early risers. Expect to see predators hunting while herbivores are grazing and browsing.
Have a bush breakfast and a picnic lunch under the tree shade in the company of wild animals feeding at a close range. In the afternoon, drive to Lake Manyara for a boat cruise. Canoeing on Lake Manyara offers you the best aquatic experience and a fresh feeling of cool lake breeze.
Look out on the shores of the lake for birds such as Black heron, Martial eagle, Glossy ibis, little bee-eater, Silvery Cheeked hornbill plus aquatic animals including crocodiles and hippos. In the evening, transfer to Serengeti National Park.
Day 3: Full day in Serengeti national Park
You will spend this whole day in Serengeti National park. Enjoy full day game drives in the park which offer you excellent views of numerous wild animals that call this park home. Serengeti National Park shelters a high concentration of wild animals which include Wildebeests, Topis and Lions, Cheetahs, leopards, Buffalos, Zebras, Giraffes, Hippos, Elands, Gazelles, Kongoni, Hartebeest and waterbucks.
Also, expect to see birds such as Kori bustard, Fischer’s lovebird, Rufous tailed weaver, Grey breasted sparrow, Yellow billed stork, Southern ground hornbill, Marabou Stork, and Secretary birds among others. A bush breakfast and picnic lunch give you chance to enjoy your meals alongside wild animals.
Day 4: Transfer to Ngorongoro Conservation area
Have a relaxed breakfast, check out and depart for Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Have a top over at Olduvai Gorge where historical remains of mankind were found. Arrive in Ngorongoro in the afternoon, check in and spend the rest of the evening at your lodge.
Day 5: Game viewing & transfer to Tarangire National Park
We shall have a half-day game drives in the park to experience different wild animals feeding in the park. Wake up early and embark on a guided game drive to Ngorongoro crater, which shelters over 30,000 animals.
You will see a variety of animals such as Lions, Hippos, Buffaloes, Elephants, Wildebeest, Zebras, Buffalos, Leopards, Elands, Warthogs, Cheetahs, Jackals, and warthogs among others. Return to the lodge for lunch and thereafter depart for Tarangire National Park. Driving time is roughly 3 hours.
Day 6: Full day in Tarangire National Park
Spend this whole day enjoying game viewing in Tarangire National park. Game drives through the park offers you great views of animals such as Giraffes, Hippos, Zebras, Thompson Gazelles, Dwarf mongoose, Waterbucks, Lions, Leopards, Wildebeests, buffalos and Elephants among others.
More so, the park is home to over 500 bird species such as Ashy starling, Red bellied parrot, Little bee-eater, Von der Decken’s hornbill, Twany eagle, Speckle fronted weaver and yellow barbet. This makes it a best place for bird watching.
Other optional activities in Tarangire National Park include nature walks and cultural visits. In the evening, relax at the lodge preparing for your next day’s flight.
Day 7: Departure
Depending on the time of your return flight, enjoy your morning sleep, have relaxed breakfast and drive back to Arusha to catch-up with your flight. If time allows, you may have a city tour through Arusha as you head to the airport. This will mark the end of your 7 Days Tanzania Wildlife Safari.
