DR Congo Visa

A visa is a must have regardless of your travel plans in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). Your D.R. Congo must be obtained early before arrival. Currently, the government of the D.R. Congo requires that all Congo visa application be made with accompaniment of invitation letter featuring the stamp of the Ministry of foreign affairs from Kinshasa. The stamps from local government offices aren’t allowed.

Requirements for D.R. Congo visa.

  • A passport is a must have if you are to obtain the D.R. Congo visa. To apply for your visa, your passport should be valid at least 6 months.
  • Proof of yellow fever-this is needed for your entry.
  • Passport photos which are in line with government’s requirements for visa application.
  • A well notarized and legalized invitation letter
  • Properly filled DR Congo visa application form
  • Besides, depending on the type of your trip, you may also require a business introduction letter.

Airport visas for the D.R. Congo aren’t available and generally, you are advised to book for your visa early before arrival. Landing into the D.R. Congo with no visa means no chance to enter the country. Valid visas are acceptable and you can secure one through the DRC embassy back in your home country and holidaymakers in USA, you can visit the DRC embassy in Washington DC. Applicants must submit their visa applications in person or deal with reliable expert.

Tourist visa requirement in D.R. Congo.

  • Passport-should be signed passport inclusive of one copy of your personal information. It should be valid for the next 6 months.
  • Photographs-should be taken within the last 3 months and printed on high quality photo paper
  • Visa application form be properly filled, should display your full names as they are in your passport, be signed.
  • Letter of invitation, should be obtained from your host in the DR Congo, should be notarized in the DR Congo and signed. The invitation letter must be legalized by DR. Congo’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and be submitted with a formal declaration of liability. This is issued by the Direction Générale des migrations (DGM).
  • In case of the host is in one of the DR Congo’s provinces, the invitation should be validated by a subsidiary office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in that particular province. In case the tourist isn’t utilizing either a tourist agency or private host, he or she should provide a letter stipulating the purpose of his or her trip, the site he or she plans to visit and duration of the tour.
  • Proof of travel agreement which should include a copy of your travel plan/itinerary/ticket. Your full names and accommodation facility you plan to have overnight stay.
  • Other requirements for obtaining tourist visa include Travisa order form, vaccination certificate (a copy of your yellow fever certificate).

When to apply for D.R. Congo visa?

To apply for your D.R. Congo visa, a visitor is advised to do so at least 1 to 2 months prior the actual date of traveling.
